The MYCV AGM will still be at 7.00 pm Thursday 24th September (next week), but will now be downstairs at Hastings Yacht Club. Our meeting will be brief and then those that wish to can then join the talk by Bruce Taylor on Ocean Sailing and Safety at Sea upstairs at the Club. It is a club fundraiser but MYCV members at invited at the HYC member's rate  - $25/head gets you the talk, supper and the bar will be open. HYC has been a long time supporter of the MYCV and SOMR so this is a great chance to give back!

Bruce Taylor is a great speaker; his knowledge of ocean sailing and racing is unsurpassed. He has competed in 34 Sydney to Hobart races, with two second placed, and a third.

Note: The talk by Dean van Teylingen on running rigging will be rescheduled to a later date

Our AGM will be on Thursday 24th September

The MYCV Annual General Meeting will be held at Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron, St Kilda, at 7.30 pm on Thursday 24th September. If you wish to nominate for the Committee or to place an item on the Agenda, please contact me (chasm200@bigpond.com). We expect the proceedings to be brief this year as there are no constitutional changes or other major issues to be dealt with.

The AGM will be followed by a talk and Q&A session with Dean van Teylingen of Ropeable Pty Ltd. Dean is an expert on running rigging, including all the new fibres, what cover to use for best performance and what gives the best bang for buck for different needs, from cruisers to high performance boats. More details to follow.

Dinner will be available prior to the meeting at RMYS.

Hope to see as many of you there as possible.

Charles Meredith (Commodore)
