Festival of Sails early bird entry - multihulls
Your Committee has decided will be no pre-Festival of Sails (FOS) multihull regatta this year as there will be quite a few boats focussing on the King of the Gulf regatta in SA. There will however still be the multihull division in the FOS itself over the Australia Day weekend and we are hoping to see a good fleet for that this year.
From the FOS website http://festivalofsails.com.au/ -
ONLY 12 DAYS LEFT TO WIN YOUR WAY TO NEW YORK CITY!
Early bird entry in to the 2016 Festival of Sails closes November 30th - which means if you haven't already entered, you only have 12 days left to get your entry in to be in the draw for some fantastic prizes.
ALL entries received by November 30th will go in the draw to win a trip for two to NEW YORK CITY.
As well as the Big Apple prize, all interstate entries will go in the draw to win a Bausele watch - the official timepiece of the Festival of Sails.
Don't miss the boat by not registering your entry by November 30th!

Our AGM will be on Thursday 24th September
The MYCV Annual General Meeting will be held at Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron, St Kilda, at 7.30 pm on Thursday 24th September. If you wish to nominate for the Committee or to place an item on the Agenda, please contact me (chasm200@bigpond.com). We expect the proceedings to be brief this year as there are no constitutional changes or other major issues to be dealt with.
The AGM will be followed by a talk and Q&A session with Dean van Teylingen of Ropeable Pty Ltd. Dean is an expert on running rigging, including all the new fibres, what cover to use for best performance and what gives the best bang for buck for different needs, from cruisers to high performance boats. More details to follow.
Dinner will be available prior to the meeting at RMYS.
Hope to see as many of you there as possible.

MYCV news update
Hi all
This blog is pretty quiet now, with most activity on our through Facebook page - Facebook is the best way to keep informed about MYCV activities now. In fact, we plan to develop a new website for the Club and then this blog will eventually cease.
Its been a pretty quiet winter for the Club but we are starting to gear up for Spring! The AGM will be held in September (you be emailed to date and location soon) and we will have an excellent speaker for the night, Dean van Teylingen from Ropeable P/L, who is an expert on running rigging.
SOMR will be on as usual over Cup weekend, back at Hastings, so hope to see you all there!
Finally, www.boatson.tv is a great site for sailing videos and news - have a look at the special they did recently on multihulls: https://youtu.be/1epxR2NLtLw
Cheers, Charles Meredith (Commodore)
